Snow is expected to fall tomorrow morning (Friday 18 January) with temperatures remaining at or below freezing for the next few days.
Ealing Council has put in place emergency plans to deal with the cold weather.
Council gritters will be out overnight to keep main roads moving and have plans in place to grit secondary roads and busy pavements including those in the town centres and near hospitals, stations and schools should conditions worsen.
Refuse and Recycling trucks are out and expect to be able to pick up waste from the majority of homes but if snow should fall a small number of very narrow streets or roads on hills may be difficult to access due to the icy conditions.
In the event of snow, parents are advised to check that their child’s school is open before leaving home.
The council is asking residents to be good neighbours during the cold snap by checking elderly or vulnerable people in their area are safe, warm and have essential supplies.
