Drivers who use RingGo to pay for their parking in any Ealing Council owned car park between Monday 14 October and Sunday 24 November will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win an iPad.
RingGo is Ealing Council’s cashless parking provider. Cashless parking is convenient for drivers, because they don’t have to carry change in order to park and can extend their parking session by making a simple phone call.
To encourage more drivers to try the new service, Ealing Council will give an iPad to one lucky person chosen at random after the 24 November. Motorists don’t have to be Ealing residents to enter the draw, they just have to pay using RingGo in any of the council’s car parks before Saturday 24 November. The winner will be announced at the end of November.
Registering with RingGo usually takes only a few minutes. Subsequent calls to pay for parking normally take less than a minute and there is also a free smartphone app that can be downloaded for free. RingGo also operates cashless parking in neighbouring Brent and Hounslow, so Ealing motorists who sign up will already be registered to pay for their parking by phone when they visit those boroughs.
Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for environment and customer services, said: “RingGo is the simplest way to pay for parking in Ealing, and in neighbouring boroughs. Lots of people already use cashless parking and we’d like to encourage even more drivers to give it a try, which is why we are offering this fantastic prize draw.
“I hope that once residents have seen how easy it is to use they’ll ditch the coins for good and pay for their parking the easy way, especially as now that we’ve dropped the 20p transaction fee, it costs exactly the same as paying with cash.”
