Local traders, entrepreneurs, charities and businesses are invited to apply for a short tenancy in Ealing’s newest pop-up shop in Springbridge Road car park, Ealing Broadway.
The car park is in the heart of the town centre and more than 13,000 cars parked there last December.
The shop will be open from 1 – 28 December and week-long leases are available in the newly refurbished retail space on the ground floor. The shop will open from 8am to 6pm, seven days a week. A week-long lease costs £200, plus a £200 returnable deposit.
The space will also open in the evening from 7- 10pm for activities, such as meetings and workshops at a charge of £25 per hour. There will be a special focus on mind, body and soul in the week commencing 8 December and applications in keeping with this theme are especially welcome.
Tenants must decorate and furnish the space themselves. Full terms and conditions and application packs are available from www.ealing.gov.uk/parking or by emailing BusinessDevelopmentParking@ealing.gov.uk. All applications must be returned by the deadline of 10 October.
Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport and environment, said: “This is an excellent opportunity, particularly as we approach Christmas, for an up and coming business to get first-hand experience of trading in the town centre. It’s also exciting for shoppers who will have the chance to support local traders and buy some unique goods.
“Springbridge Road car park has already played host to a pop-up cinema and this is a natural next step. I am looking forward to seeing some exciting applications.”
The shop was refurbished using money raised by Seco and Elephant Atta’s sponsorship of this summer’s special Bollywood film screening; which was part of the rooftop cinema programme in Springbridge Road car park.
